Fear is losing its hold over people. Keep your eyes open for events happening throughout Norrath.\n The Loyalists of EverQuest program is now live! All subscribers will get weekly rewards for having an active subscription see the special section below for details.\n We are continuing to implement requests we received at Fan Faire. These are marked with asterisks below.\n\n *** Loyalists of EverQuest ***\n\n Loyalists of EverQuest is a program for our loyal EverQuest customers. For simply continuing to subscribe to our game you will gain a special currency (crowns) every week that can be spent on items to improve your game play. There is no additional charge for the items you find on this vendor. You will not need to spend station cash, nor buy Legends of Norrath packs to gain these items. Simply continue to play our game. Seek out Alerynril the Loyal in Plane of Knowledge for the current loyalty items.\n The amount of crowns you gain each week will increase for every month that you have a continued subscription to EverQuest. This increase in points per week caps out after 12 months. This is the \"Velocity\" you see on the welcome screen. The specific method of subscription is not important, as long as you continue to stay subscribed each month. Additionally, long term subscribers will gain an initial bonus of crowns, depending upon the duration of their subscription. For each month your subscription lapses, you will lose three months of velocity.\n NOTE: Loyalty points are shared across all your characters on all servers. Choose which character gets the rewards carefully!\n\n *** Items ***\n\n Several Underfoot Cosgrove raid seals have had their focus effects increased to bring them in line with the rest of the raid seals.\n Whirlwind now has a level cap on its stun component.\n\n *** Quests & Events ***\n\n Trial of Creation Lowered the radius on the Jeweled Golem's AE spell by 33 percent.*\n Unstable Creation Corrected errors in the challenge mode transition for this event. Restored the second chest when it is defeated in challenge mode.\n The First Creation The First Creation has had his wild rampage damage reduced. His normal rampage damage was not changed.*\n The First Creation Once the healing phase of his event begins, The First Creation will summon skirmishers less often.*\n\n *** Spells ***\n\n Paladin\n\n The Aurora line of spells will now generate a minimal amount of hate when used. They should be otherwise unaffected.\n\n Shaman\n\n Feralization will now reduce target accuracy for all melee skills rather than just one hand blunt.\n\n *** Miscellaneous ***\n\n Improved the pathing in Discord to help reduce warping issues with Pallorax and other NPCs in the zone.*\n\n *** UI ***\n\n Updated icon files.\n Changed\n EQUI_Animations.xml\n\n *** Previously Updated ***\n\n Changed several Underfoot raids to make them easier*.\n\n\n The EverQuest Team","content_hash":"28bc7b7ee5326c80b3c34b522565b63b22a6710e696cec65a020910fa58d322a","source_files":["patches-2010-2.txt","patches_1999-2010_combined.txt"],"source_titles":["September 8, 2010"],"source_url":null,"source_urls":[],"occurrence_count":2,"source_occurrences":[{"occurrence_id":"a1f098b4f900aeefd856a699a49f340bc2d5ace784ae1f962e3138e64aa415b0","filename":"patches_1999-2010_combined.txt","adapter":"text","source_offset":1297163,"item_index":null,"heading":"September 8, 2010","source_url":null,"source_url_raw":null,"published":null,"source_kind":"text","excerpt":false,"year_inferred":false},{"occurrence_id":"77ad8ae9a4a56911d285bac66b12e364d185836dc7e205176416fbfffc83092d","filename":"patches-2010-2.txt","adapter":"text","source_offset":16685,"item_index":null,"heading":"September 8, 2010","source_url":null,"source_url_raw":null,"published":null,"source_kind":"text","excerpt":false,"year_inferred":false}],"year_inferred":false,"sequence":1,"slug":"2010-09-08-1","id":"2010-09-08-1"},{"patch_date":"2010-08-23","effective_date":"2010-08-23","display_date":"August 23, 2010","title":"August 23, 2010","year":2010,"month":8,"kind":"live","era":"EverQuest Live","expansion":"Underfoot","expansion_code":"underfoot","categories":[{"slug":"quests-events","label":"Quests & Events"},{"slug":"expansions","label":"Expansions"}],"sections":["Hotfix"],"change_count":1,"word_count":299,"summary":"Several adjustments to Tier 7 Underfoot raids were pushed live in a hotfix yesterday (from the patcher): Hotfix *** Changed several Underfoot raids to make them easier. Many of these changes came from feedback we received from the community.\n\n The Death Beetle The type and number of hatchlings that spawn from the Death Beetle will no longer be randomly decided. The same hatchlings will spawn each time they spawn. The hatchlings have also been renamed.\n The Death Beetle Rapid hailing of the elder sporali will no longer cause the event to advance phases.\n The Death Beetle Reduced the number of fungi (and their equivalent sporali) that spawn at the beginning of the raid by half, but increased their HP. Overall there are fewer targets and less total damage to deal in order to kill the waves.\n The Death Beetle The raid event will reset if the Death Beetle is left idle for more than 60 seconds after it is first aggroed.\n The Death Beetle Hatchlings will now spawn less often and at a more reliable interval. Instead of spawning every 10 percent (with some variation) they now spawn every 15 percent.\n Masked Invaders A message will now reveal the character responsible for causing the greken to be healed.\n A Cunning Plan Further reduced the DPS of the mephit keyholders and minions for a total of about 20 percent.\n A Cunning Plan Reduced Taskmaster Yeorick's DPS slightly.\n Trial of Destruction Reduced the DPS of the rotocopter, gnomework, and skittering sentinels.\n Trial of Creation Many enemies in this trial have had their DPS reduced.\n Trial of Creation Many enemies in this trial have had their hit points reduced by approximately 10 percent.\n An Audience with Brell Brell and his Armored Visage have had their DPS reduced.\n\n - The EverQuest Team","content_hash":"8670188048e2d27395f392719a997cda9bfdcd615f3702e037614cd331f99608","source_files":["patches-2010-2.txt","patches_1999-2010_combined.txt"],"source_titles":["August 23, 2010"],"source_url":null,"source_urls":[],"occurrence_count":2,"source_occurrences":[{"occurrence_id":"70049759ac31c61755277389ecf187a7c1c5f30d6477eb697722e06c72ea995f","filename":"patches_1999-2010_combined.txt","adapter":"text","source_offset":1295147,"item_index":null,"heading":"August 23, 2010","source_url":null,"source_url_raw":null,"published":null,"source_kind":"text","excerpt":false,"year_inferred":false},{"occurrence_id":"95d4e996264ffa72185d20cf062dae33bcf05fc65b24ff4fb13fb92f7f06a850","filename":"patches-2010-2.txt","adapter":"text","source_offset":14669,"item_index":null,"heading":"August 23, 2010","source_url":null,"source_url_raw":null,"published":null,"source_kind":"text","excerpt":false,"year_inferred":false}],"year_inferred":false,"sequence":1,"slug":"2010-08-23-1","id":"2010-08-23-1"},{"patch_date":"2010-08-18","effective_date":"2010-08-18","display_date":"August 18, 2010","title":"August 18, 2010","year":2010,"month":8,"kind":"live","era":"EverQuest Live","expansion":"Underfoot","expansion_code":"underfoot","categories":[{"slug":"bug-fixes","label":"Bug Fixes"},{"slug":"classes","label":"Classes"},{"slug":"spells-aa","label":"Spells & AA"},{"slug":"items","label":"Items"},{"slug":"zones-npcs","label":"Zones & NPCs"},{"slug":"quests-events","label":"Quests & Events"},{"slug":"ui","label":"UI"},{"slug":"expansions","label":"Expansions"}],"sections":["Highlights","Items","Quests & Events","Spells","Miscellaneous","UI"],"change_count":1,"word_count":393,"summary":"Here are the patch notes from a game update pushed live today (from the patcher): Highlights *** We were able to make several changes in response to feedback we received at Fan Faire. It…","content":"Here is the \"sneak peek\" version (subject to change) of Wednesday's patch notes, as found on the patcher:\n\n*** Highlights ***\n\n- The Convorteum and the First Creation:\n\nThe Convorteum is a secluded area of the Underfoot that is the home of the First Creation and the heart of the conspiracy against Brell. It is a massive, inverted pyramidal structure sprouting from the ceiling of a huge, lava-filled chamber. Those that have been converted to the Faith of Self come to the Convorteum at times to show their loyalty to the First Creation and to show that they accept the tenets of the Faith of Self - place oneself above all others. This creates confusion in the minds of some, mixed messages that have lead to much sadness, loss and even madness.\n\nThe First Creation was the first and most loyal creation of Brell Serilis, and the very first sentient form he ever created. The First Creation chose to rebel against Brell. His tampering with the design of new races is subtle but in powerful ways, causing them to turn along paths that lead to destruction and harm to the Underfoot.\n\nThe First has done something to distract Brell, to turn his attention away from the Underfoot. Brell's loyal servants are not usually ones to question his actions or decisions, and few of them have even tried to discover what is wrong, or even understand that anything is wrong. But a few have, and the intrusion of upworlders gives the loyalists more options, more tools, to further their understanding of the problems in Underfoot.\n\n- Many of the rare creatures in Underfoot have been moved to consolidate their spawn locations. Be on the lookout for new places to find them.\n\n- Most Underfoot raids have had significant tuning changes made in order to make them more surmountable. Please see the \"Quests and Events\" section for details.\n\n- There is a new stats pane on the inventory panel that displays many stats not aggregated elsewhere.\n\n*** Items ***\n\n- The focus on the Ranger Breastplate has changed to Focused Storm of Arrows Fury which increases damage from Focused Storm of Arrows. The amount is equivalent to the increase in damage other damage increasing breastplates get over existing foci.\n- The Underfoot berserker breastplate effects should now stack with Shared Bloodlust.\n- Changed the augment slot on the Magmatic Deflector from type 4 to type 7.\n- Added an augment slot to the Eyepiece of the Fancy Tinker.\n\n*** Tradeskills ***\n\n- Three more ranks of the Salvage Alternate Ability have been created. Each rank offers an additional 5% of salvage ability. You must own the Underfoot expansion in order to purchase these new ranks.\n- Added bag tokens for the new tradeskilled ornaments.\n- Added Faerune to Cosgrove Arcanist Seals and Cosgrove head seals, as long as they did not already have a worn focus.\n- Tradeskill Treasurer NPCs will always give molds to dwarves, even if they are asked for patterns. They will no longer offer a quest for armor patterns. Any Dwarven books turned in as patterns are unavailable for now, but are not lost. We will continue to work on a better solution.\n- Increased the direct damage of the Tallon and Vallon tactic poisons by an additional 50%. This portion can hit for critical damage. Doubled the synchronous damage done by these poisons. This portion will not hit for critical damage. The duration of the debuff has been increased to 12 ticks.\n \n*** Quests & Events ***\n\n- Fippy the Destroyer's power up damage and frequency has been reduced.\n- Reduced the damage on Fippy the Destroyer's Shadow Strike ability.\n- Add numbers have been reduced in all phases of Fippy the Destroyer's event, except between the first and second phases.\n- Reduced combat values on all non-unique Burynai in the Masked Invaders event.\n- All Burynai in the Masked Invaders event should be a bit more manageable in general.\n- Slightly increased the time between power-ups for the Brutale in the Masked Invaders event.\n- The Burynai Destroyer has been made slightly more difficult.\n- Reduced damage output from the bosses in Grunkuck's event.\n- Increased the interval between add spawns in Grunkuck's event.\n- Grunkuck's mate will now spawn near Grunkuck in order to help keep her safe.\n- Brath's damage when his regeneration ability is removed has been slightly reduced.\n- The Arcane Shards of Brath will not immediately split if the one they hate the most is too far away. You now have 15 seconds to engage them before they get angry and split in two.\n- The Icy Shards of Brath will now correctly reset the Strike of Brell timer when they are hit by six cold spells.\n- Reduced the number of 'food' aphids in the Guardians of the Hive event from 15 to 10.\n- Increased the time between possible aphid wave spawns in the Guardians of the Hive event.\n- Slightly reduced the HP of each of the boss Klik'nar in the Guardians of the Hive event.\n- Increased the time before the healing mushrooms cast their spells in the Guardians of the Hive event.\n- Fixed a bug with the young queens in the Cliknar Queen event. They had taken on too many of their progenitor's powers due to overenthusiastic genetic material. They have returned to their proper status.\n- Corrected combat settings for the Death Beetle event.\n- The Living Legacy event rewards for 2010 and later will no longer be dependent on your server's best score. Any event completion from this point forward will be able to grant its reward immediately. You still will receive the best augment if your 2008 or 2009 scores were better.\n- Added some in-mission reward chests to Underfoot missions in Cooling Chamber, Brell's Rest, Underquarry, Foundation, Pellucid Grotto, Arthicrex and Shining City. Rewards for the other missions are forthcoming in the next update.\n- The Shade of Darott will no longer immediately send you out of his mission if you accidentally hail him twice.\n\n*** Spells ***\n\n- Beastlord - Steeltrap Jaws, Lockfang Jaws, and Fellgrip Jaws have been reworked to only be limited by their own triggered effects and not other spells cast by the pet.\n- Beastlord - Friendly pet is now a contact ability that shares a stacking slot with steeltrap jaws and other similar spells. It will fire up to 6 times per cast and has an increased chance to proc.\n- Berserker - Reflected Bloodlust will now also effect piercing weapons for the berserker.\n- Berserker - Axe of Rallos Dread effect will now increase the damage the target takes from the next 50 melee hits by 5%.\n- Berserker - Axe of Rallos and its attributable effects are now harder to resist.\n- Cleric - Aquifer Splash now has a wear off message.\n- Cleric - Blessed Aquifer should now disappear when all the charges are used.\n- Druid - Removed the recast time of Blessing of the Heartwood.\n- Druid - Sundew Blessing's description now matches its functionality.\n- Necromancer - Necrotize ally no longer does damage to the caster's pet. The stun has been increased to 12 seconds up from 10.\n- Paladin - Protective Confession's melee guard effect is now in slot 1.\n- Paladin/Shadowknight - Withstand Blow's melee guard effect is now in slot 9.\n- Ranger - Increased the range of Jolting Frontkicks from 30 to 50.\n- Rogue - Increased the range of Assault to 50 up from 30.\n- Rogue - Assault aggro has been lowered to approximately 2/3 of the original value.\n- Rogue - Twisted Chance Discipline is now on Timer 3.\n- Shadowknight - Malarian Skin's Melee guard effect is now in slot 6.\n- Warrior - Added cast messages back on to all ranks of Field Armorer.\n- Warrior - Field Armorer can now be used regardless of what you have targeted.\n- Warrior - Field Armorer now has a 1.5 second recast and shares a timer with Champion's Aura, Commanding Voice, and Myrmidon's Aura.\n- Wizard - Self-Immolation will now trigger a DoT effect on the caster instead of a DD effect.\n- Wizard - Self-Immolation is now listed under the Direct Damage -> Fire category.\n- Wizard - Malediction of Havoc can now be found in the Direct Damage -> Fire memorization category.\n- Wizard - Malediction of Havoc now has a -50 resist modifier.\n- Wizard - Removed the cast messages from the Malediction of Havoc Reflection Spells\n- Wizard - The \"Syllable of fire/ice/magic/mastery\" effects now grant a damage bonus to the next spell of their respective types. The mastery syllable will grant bonus damage to any spell. If you are running in \"original\" mode, you will be automatically switched back to \"most memory\" mode. The eventual goal is to remove the need for \"original' mode. You can still switch it back to \"original\" if you encounter problems (please post about any issues you have). NOTE: This has nothing to do with \"West bug\" like symptoms in Field of Scale, etc. That's a totally separate issue. This may address the problems reported with corrupted textures when the memory optimized modes were introduced.\n- Fixed a problem with twinheal when triggered from an item. It now does the twin-heal and consumes the twinheal charge. This is the vast magma ball that floats in the center of a hollow sphere that stretches across a great distance. Standing on any open interior portion of the sphere, adventurers can look up to see the massive, blazing ball of living lava. The sphere is large enough that while individual areas may have a \"bowl\" shape it is very minor. Lava flows into and out of the Heart of the World from volcanoes, lava tubes and crevasses all around the hollow sphere, like blood into and out of a heart.\n\nThe Plane of Underfoot is ruled by a curious being known as Brell Serilis, the Duke of Below. It consists of an elaborate system of caves and tunnels and is inhabited by all sorts of creatures, both good and evil, that normally dwell underground.\n\nIn his temple at the top of the tallest volcano, Brell spends his days making new races. Most he destroys, returning them to their primal clay. Some he makes into his servants. Recently things have changed. Conflict exists in the Underfoot. There are those who continue to worship Brell Serilis and those who feel abandoned by him. Brell's presence is no longer felt in the plane, and in his absence much of the machinery that serves Norrath and other worlds is breaking down.\n\nIt is into this troubled realm that adventurers can now travel.\n\n- New Content: New areas for adventurers to explore including Brell's Rest, Pellucid Grotto, The Underquarry, Brell's Arena, The Foundation, The Cooling Chamber, Arthicrex, Lichen Creep, Kernagir the Shining City, Fungal Forest, Volska's Husk, and Brell's Temple. Travel to the Underfoot solo, with a group, or in raids to complete new quests, tasks, and events to acquire new items, spells, tradeskill recipes, and abilities.\n\n- Extended Target Window: Track friends and foes with greater accuracy. The target window now lets you assign people or group roles to specific locations on the window for easy re-targeting. You can track main tank, raid tanks, main target, main assist, puller, etc., or just put a specific player or NPC in the window.\n\n- New Achievement System: Display and manage your progress through the world of Norrath. The achievement system allows players to track various categories of their advancement such as levels, Alternate Advancements, quest completions, and other progression tracking events. At the launch of Underfoot, players can track their General, Tradeskill and Underfoot progression Achievements. \n\n Open displays achievements you haven't completed yet.\n Complete lets you toggle the display of achievements you have already completed.\n Locked toggles the achievements you aren't quite ready to work on just yet. As an example, if you are level 30, you should be focusing on obtaining level 40 instead of level 50. In some cases, like quest lines, you may be able to complete locked achievements. This helps direct the players to content they should be focused on for their level and progression stage.\n\n- Master Tradeskilling: Create powerful new weapons, armor, food and drink items, poisons and more.\n\n\n*** Highlights ***\n\n- EverQuest Underfoot is now open to everyone who has purchased it!
